The Fenwick Resolution passed unanimously by The 2008 World Congress on National Accounts and Economic Performance Measures
for Nations has been adopted as the IPEER Network Mission Statement

Moved by David Fenwick, Director of Consumer Prices and General Inflation Division of the Office of National Statistics in the United Kingdom, and

seconded by Richard B. Freeman, Herbert Ascherman Chair in Economics at Harvard University, Faculty Director of the Labor and Worklife Program at the Harvard Law School, Director of the Labor Studies Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and Senior Research Fellow in Labour Markets at the London School of Economics’ Centre for Economic Performance:

“This Congress affirms the importance that better information and analysis plays in the economic performance and well-being of nations.

It supports initiatives in the field of national accounts and other key economic statistics in response to the growing need for a more meaningful measurement of economic development in individual countries and globally.

It affirms the importance of continued collaboration between the academic community and the producers of official statistics to achieve this goal.”
